Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Come unto Me

Those who labour, take His yoke

Galatians 5:1 NKJV

1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Don’t take the yoke of the law. That is slavery

All have sin and fallen short of His glory

We have put other kind of yokes on ourselves

When we impose on ourselves and think we can make it happen, we are taking on the yoke

How is Jesus’ yoke different?

Jacob is the son of Issac and Rebekah

Don’t let anyone or yourself define yourself based on any failure in your life

Nothing can truly be resolved in your life until you allow God to resolve it

Genesis 31:3 (NIV)

3 Then the LORD said to Jacob, “Go back to the land of your fathers and to your relatives, and I will be with you.”

He meets us where we are

Genesis 32:24-31 NKJV

24 Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day.

25 Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him.

26 And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.”

But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!”

27 So He said to him, “What is your name?”

He said, “Jacob.”

28 And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

29 Then Jacob asked, saying, “Tell me Your name, I pray.”

And He said, “Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He blessed him there.

30 So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”

31 Just as he crossed over Penuel the sun rose on him, and he limped on his hip.

Jacob “die die” don’t want to let go

Your name reveals your nature

Jacob means grabber, supplanter

Israel means struggled with God and men and you have prevailed.

Statement of Radical grace:

Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.

I am your God and I will bless you

God went to Jacob, not he went to find God

Rest and lean on God

Receive and releasing blessing. Not striving

He said He will bless me and make me a blessing and I can rest

We have a God who will bless us

He will make our lives glorious

Genesis 11:27-30 (MSG)

28 Haran had Lot. Haran died before his father, Terah, in the country of his family, Ur of the Chaldees.

29 Abram and Nahor each got married. Abram’s wife was Sarai; Nahor’s wife was Milcah, the daughter of his brother Haran. Haran had two daughters, Milcah and Iscah.

30 Sarai was barren; she had no children.

John 4:10 NKJV

10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

John 4:13-15 NKJV

13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,

14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”

Jesus talked to her about living water and worship

Not condemn her in her sin

She can worship the Lord in spirit

Rest is not about doing this and that

Let Me be the one who can satisfy you

He is the living water!

He is my Blesser

He will bless us

Blessings He will bless us
